Academic Services

Academic Services provides support and strategic direction to ensure success in our service to students, working in collaboration with colleagues across the University, especially in academic units.

Business Development Unit

The BDU is committed to the delivery of innovative and profitable learning solutions, for students, businesses and partners, in the UK and globally.

Development Office

The Development Office's purpose is to raise philanthropic income and build an engaged alumni community, supporting the OU in its mission and strategic objectives.

Digital Services

Digital Services brings trusted design, data and technology know-how to the delivery of life-long learning at The Open University. Digital Services maintains over 250 OU services and systems that students and staff use every day.

EDI Team

The Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) team is a specialist team focusing on a wide range of equality issues across the university. The EDI team ensures the OU meets legal requirements, establishes good practice, and provides the expertise required to build a truly diverse and inclusive community.

Estates

Estates provide a range of professional services to the University, including but not limited to project management, health and safety, postal services, transportation, grounds and property maintenance and management.

Finance and Business Services

Finance and Business Services provides accounting, procurement and commercial legal services to the University, helping to make the best use of resources and fulfilling statutory responsibilities.

Information Technology

Information Technology (IT) deliver systems and services that support the University's mission, students, colleagues, and partners.

Internal Audit Service

The ​​Internal Audit Service provides the assurance, design and operation of effective governance, ​risk management and internal control arrangements, which help the University succeed.

Learner and Discovery Services

Learner and Discovery Services collaborate with academic colleagues to design and produce world-class distance learning for students. They also provide a range of support services that enhance the learning experience.

Library Services

The multi-award-winning Open University Library underpins the University mission to be open to people, places, methods and ideas. The Library Services connect the whole OU Community with world class information, technology and award-winning expertise to facilitate knowledge creation.

Marketing and Communications

Marketing and Communications offers expertise in campaigns, staff engagement, product marketing, customer experience, PR, change management, digital insights, strategy and brand.

The OU in Ireland promotes educational opportunity and social justice by providing high-quality university education to all who wish to realise their ambitions and fulfil their potential.

OU Northern Ireland

The OU in Northern Ireland is the only university in Northern Ireland dedicated to distance learning.

OU Scotland

The OU in Scotland provides supported distance learning to over 19,500 students in Scotland.

University Secretary's Office

The University Secretary’s Office (USO) provides a range of professional services and leadership support. The USO also develops and delivers institutional and sector priorities, policies, and services.
