About the Role
Hybrid working is available but attendance in the office is expected to be two days per week.
The Open University is recruiting a customer focused and technically adept analyst to provide the frontline systems support and data analysis to Researchers and other Research systems users. This is a 2 year Fixed Term Contract.
The post holder will generate regular Management Information reports and deal with ad hoc reporting requests.
Additionally, they will support in house developed (low code/no-code) systems by monitoring errors, answering user queries and documenting new solutions.
They will take ownership of the first line support and the ongoing enhancement of user support guidance.
Key Responsibilities
- Production of both regular and ad-hoc reports, drawing on data from multiple sources, primarily using Excel.
- Provide, email-based, user administration and system use support for research related systems.
- Produce and maintain user communications and system usage guides.
- Provide quality assurance of reports produced and the testing of low-code/no-code system and process enhancements.
- Where appropriate, assist with the ongoing enhancement of research related systems and processes.
- Undertaking activities as may reasonably be requested by line manager, R&E Senior Managers and the Head of R&E.
Skills and Experience
Essential Requirements
- A relevant degree, or equivalent experience
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, expert in Excel
- Excellent attention to detail
- Evidence of dedication to customer satisfaction
- Problem solving ability, numeracy, analytical and interpretative skills
- Effective oral and written communication skills, with the ability to disseminate systems information to different audiences
- Organisational skills including the ability to manage own workload
- Willingness to take on new or develop existing MS PowerApps skills
- Ability to work flexibly both independently and part of a team
Desirable:
- Experience of working in Higher Education sector or sector-related knowledge
- Power Apps, Power Query, SharePoint experience
