About the Role
This post will report to the Senior Broadcast Platforms and Partnerships Manager (B&P). The role will support the creation, delivery, and performance analysis of digital and broadcast media content. It combines data-driven content strategy, asset management, and cross-platform publishing support, ensuring effective collaboration across internal and external stakeholders, including the BBC and academic teams.
Purpose Statement
- Content performance intelligence – creating and maintaining reports and dashboards that enable stakeholders across broadcast and digital platforms to monitor media performance, identify trends, and take evidence-based action; and providing required reports into key management and strategic groups.
- Managing and servicing data and asset requests – responding to specific requests for performance data, content access, and asset management across internal and external platforms where self-serve tools do not exist.
- Strategic media analysis and delivery – conducting deep dive analyses to provide insight into media reach and engagement, proactively driving recommendations to improve content strategy, operational effectiveness, and stakeholder collaboration.
- Broadcast and digital asset delivery – overseeing the accurate and timely delivery, cataloguing, and storage of media assets, ensuring compliance with documentation standards and rights management across OU and BBC systems.
Key Responsibilities
Analytics, Reporting & Strategy
- Monitor, evaluate, and report on digital content performance using tools such as Google Analytics, and and third party platform-specific analytics (e.g. Genially, Riddle, Publuu, Vimeo)
- Produce regular performance reports for B&P and internal stakeholders, present analysis and insights to inform actionable recommendations to enhance content strategy and user engagement.
- Use external dashboards (e.g., BBC Overnights Portal, BBC Ideas) to assess content reach and effectiveness.
- Prepare and provide reports and insights for project reviews and contribute to strategic meetings with relevant analyses.
- Prepare and provide reports about asset (video, audio, digital) reuse and monitor.
- Manage Awards processes: advise on deadlines liaise with BBC/Third parties, maintain master spreadsheet for KPI reports.
Broadcast Media Asset Management
- Manage stakeholder relationships and oversee the delivery, cataloguing, and storage of OU/BBC co-produced television, digital, and audio assets.
- Coordinate the receipt and verification of all broadcast-related documentation, ensuring accuracy before inputting into OU systems.
- Use OU systems such as VideoFinder, AWS, and the OU Production Portal for asset tracking, reporting, and archival management.
- Maintain awareness of rights clearance and compliance issues (in collaboration with SBPM).
Content Creation & Platform Support
- Provide administrative and creative support across content workflows, including gathering, organising, and uploading documentation.
- Support the development of visually engaging content using platforms like Canva, Genially, and Riddle.
Communication, Collaboration & Content Dissemination
- Liaise with BBC contacts to set up and maintain accurate records for BBC Silvermouse deliveries.
- Liaise with BBC contacts and internal stakeholders to gather performance data and maintain transmission schedules.
- Distribute weekly and monthly broadcast schedules to relevant OU teams.
- Actively participate in team meetings and brainstorming sessions for content planning.
- Write and distribute engaging newsletters for each faculty twice a year, collaborating with wider teams to gather relevant content and ensure alignment with strategic goals. Track engagement metrics to inform future communications.
- Provide support and advice to production and module teams regarding content access and delivery processes.
- Monitor and manage the Broadcast Team inbox, coordinating responses with the B&P team.
About You
Essential
- Demonstrated familiarity with media outputs across TV, digital, and audio platforms, as well as media asset management systems (e.g., AWS) and post-production workflows.
- Experience in interpreting and analysing media performance data using tools such as Google Analytics, Vimeo analytics, or platform-specific dashboards.
- Proven ability to create compelling visual reports and dashboards using tools like Canva, Genially, or Microsoft Office (PowerPoint) to support strategic decision-making, with the ability to present insights clearly to diverse audiences.
- A track record of successfully managing multiple digital/media projects, with a strong technical focus, coupled with excellent organisational and time management skills, and a proactive, reflective approach to process improvement.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with experience working effectively across internal teams and external partners (e.g. Broadcast media, academic teams).
Desirable
- Experience with BBC systems including Silvermouse, with a strong understanding of rights management, compliance protocols, and editorial workflows.
- Knowledge of publishing and editing tools such as Vimeo, Canva, and Adobe Premiere.
- Understanding of social media platforms and their strategic use in amplifying content reach and engagement.
- Awareness of the OU-BBC partnership and its strategic objectives, as it relates to the role of broadcast content in supporting educational impact.

Work location
It is anticipated that a hybrid working pattern can be adopted for this role, where you can work from home and the office. However, as this role is contractually aligned to our Milton Keynes office some attendance in the office will be required in response to business needs. We’d expect this to be at least once a week.
