About the Role

As Lead Analyst, ERP Products, you will manage a team of four SAP analysts, providing coaching, development, and performance oversight while setting clear objectives. The role requires closely working with business partners to gather precise requirements and acting as a technical Product Owner within Agile/Scrum frameworks. Responsibilities include estimating and planning analysis efforts, allocating and monitoring tasks in collaboration with Delivery Managers, and ensuring the team delivers high-quality work on time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Producing and agreeing resource estimates and project stage schedules; monitoring progress against these estimates and schedules, reporting progress in a timely manner
  • Monitoring the quality of analysis work, ensuring that it is delivered in accordance with IT methods and processes and conforms to standards
  • The post-holder will actively participate in the work of their team by providing production support, systems analysis, specification design, business process modelling and improvement, systems configuration, and documentation support as appropriate (detailed requirements for projects/gap analysis as examples)
  • Supervising analysts in a line management capacity including providing coaching, guidance & motivation to the team and advising management of training and recruitment requirements
  • Monitoring and recommending evidence-based improvements to standards and process as part of continual improvement
  • Lead the analysis tasks on funded projects
  • Create, update and embed processes around daily triage calls and manage/maintain reports within Azure DevOps for KPI reporting to Digital Services Leadership
  • Liaise, manage and work in collaboration our Tech Partner NTT Data for the day-to-day management of operations across the ERP Product Team
  • Support the ERP analyst team’s regular monitoring and incident resolution for the staff and student data SAP integration processes

About You

Essential:

  • Holds a degree/equivalent professional qualification or demonstrable and proven track record in Business Analysis
  • Experience in working in an Agile / Scrum / Project environment, alongside overseeing business as usual activity
  • Experience of coaching and build confidence in members of the team in a line management capacity
  • Operational, transformational, and integration knowledge and experience of SAP systems and standards (SuccessFactors, S/4 Hana / S/4 Hana Business Warehouse, Ariba, Concur, SAP Payroll, Fiori, and SAP Analytics Cloud), SAP module enhancement, with experience of all stages of the development lifecycle from change proposals to post-implementation system support
  • Experience of requirements definition, analysis and modelling to meet complex business needs
  • Ability to manage conflicting stakeholder requirements to drive compromise and the right outcomes for the University to deliver the optimum sustainable and supportable solutions
  • Practical experience of quality control and knowledge of theory in relation to the analysis and development life cycle
  • Can quickly grasp business problems and convert into well-expressed requirement statements
  • Ability to communicate effectively and develop relationships with all stakeholders including colleagues from Finance, Digital Services & People Services up to and including presenting to Director and Executive level colleagues
  • Evidence of commitment to maintaining and improving processes and standards
  • Evidence of a high level of personal performance and desire to improve performance
  • Able to define objectives, prioritise, plan, allocate and monitor work, communicate plans and get commitment to their delivery managing expectations and utilising influencing & negotiation skills

 

Desirable:

  • Experience of working on large scale SAP projects in a senior analyst role
  • Broad knowledge of key Digital Services capabilities and developments

It is anticipated that a hybrid working pattern can be adopted for this role, where the successful candidate can work from home and the office. However, as this role is contractually aligned to our Milton Keynes office it is expected that some attendance in the office will be required when necessary and in response to business needs. We’d expect this to be on average once per week.
